I’m a summer girl: flip-flops, ponytail, beach hat, beach bag, beach everything. But if you’re like me, you know that summer is good because it makes you think back when life was easy, adventurous, and fun.
Sleeping until noon, going to the beach, then riding your bike in your neighborhood for hours and hours until your mom calls you in for dinner. The nightcaps were by far the best time—out on the porch with your family and friends from the neighborhood, eating two scoops of ice cream on a waffle cone! And the morning after was filled with sweet fruit jam spooned over a still-warm, homemade buttermilk biscuit, golden and
flaky on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside, making your day a whole lot better. There’s nothing quite like summer. A few years ago,
I realized that my life truly began to change when I started to hold what I loved about summer in my heart throughout the year. Here to show us how to do this is our cover girl, local blogger and influencer, Claudia
Caminero. She lives life as if it is particularly marked by intentional spontaneity. In her story, she helps us return to summer mode and enjoy life by holding that brave, playful, adventurous, warm, beautiful, summery
feeling in our hearts, letting it guide us. Whether she’s by the pool at The Hilton West Palm Beach, enjoying a picnic for two at Mizner’s Park in
Boca Raton, having a delicious dinner at Pistache French Bistro in downtown West Palm, or immersing in some summer crafts or dance classes at CityPlace, she knows those days and nights are going to be good, because she makes them good. And she encourages
us to do the same. In our feature story, Frankie Brusco, owner of
Gabriella’s Modern Italian Restaurant in Delray Beach also demonstrates that risks are necessary in life, both in season and out of season. And that confidence is found within when you ask the question, “What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?” Welcome summer. A season to be fun and have spontaneous fun. To take on the open road. To have that desire again to be with family and friends and discover new local hangouts together, share serendipitous memories, and create new ones along
the way. And so, the adventure begins…
