Our Story
Maritza Cosano founded Writers’ Circle in 2014 to unite local writers. She believes in the power of community to nurture creativity and prepare writers for publication.
Our Mission
At Writers’ Circle, we nurture creativity through regular meetups at local venues, inspiring writers of all ages. We’re also committed to enriching young minds by introducing creative writing programs in middle and high schools, culminating in student publications and competitions that foster the next generation of storytellers.
Our Teen Writers’ Summer Workshops give talented middle and high school students an immersive experience in creative writing. Workshops are hosted online and are taught by our professional writer, Maritza Cosano.
As a Young Adult and children’s book author, scriptwriter, and writing instructor, Maritza brings years of experience to our workshops.
With pay-as-you-go pricing and no contracts, we’re making learning creative writing accessible for everyone. You choose where and when to meet — in person or online. You will enjoy a perfect balance of instruction from Maritza and structured time to work on your craft.
At Writers’ Circle Teen Writers’ Workshops, you can:
- Awaken natural creative impulses.
- Develop voice as a writer.
- Celebrate creativity at our Zoom Writer’s Room.
- Explore writing in multiple genres.
- Learn critiquing writing skills for school.
- Walk away with new ideas and a brimming portfolio.
The Teen Writers’ Workshop is for Grades 6–12, at a rate of $50 per one-hour session / per student.
